Lace up those tennis shoes and get ready for the Loyal Heights Elementary Move-A-Thon 2021!

 

This year the Move-A-Thon is a week-long social distanced event, March 22nd-27th, in which we encourage students and their families to get up and move! 

 

Throughout the week if you take a walk, ride your bike, go for a swim or dance to your favorite jam, you can record your active minutes here or keep track for yourself. To finish off the week, on Saturday, March 27th, we have created a 5k course through the neighborhood and past the school. Families are invited to complete some or all of this course anytime throughout the day while remaining socially distant and masked up. 

 

The week following March 27th, we will be collecting and tallying all the minutes and pledges. How many minutes of movement do you think LHE students can do?! Take a guess, here, the closest to the actual number will receive a prize! There are also prizes for highest fundraisers - win a Garmin VivofitJunior! and most minutes moved as well as from a raffle where students will earn a ticket for every 30 minutes of movement. Students will all have the opportunity to complete at least 30 minutes of movement in PE class.

 

This is a week devoted to fun, fitness, and community, and is critical to meeting our fundraising goal. The money raised goes to the Loyal Heights PTA which supports programs for students and teachers including music, arts, classroom and staffing support, tutoring, and many other things that make our school special.

 

FUNDRAISE: Ask friends, neighbors and family members to sponsor your movement. Movement can be anything you want it to be! Run, walk, jump, ride, skip, dance, hula-hoop, swim or glide! People can make a per minute pledge or a simple flat donation.

MOVE WITH US: Family and friends are encouraged to join in more than ever this year! Put on your masks and complete some or all of the 5k course through the neighborhood! Wave to friends and participate in fun surprise activities along the way! 

 

All students will receive a complimentary Move-A-Thon t-shirt, available for pickup March 18th & 19th in the school lobby. If pickup during school hours isn’t an option, other arrangementcan be made.
