Neurodiversity & Special Education Corner
Welcome to our Special Education & Neurodiversity Corner!
The Loyal Heights Elementary Parent-Teacher Association is here to support families and students who participate in special education programs and/or are neurodivergent. With feedback from parents and staff, we decided to create a section on our website with resources and tools to help the LHE community navigate the complex world of special education and to narrow our invisible neuro-cultural divide. We hope this page serves as a starting point to build community among parents, students, and staff at Loyal Heights, and to advocate for equitable and inclusive education for all.
We also invite you to join our PTA and take advantage of the various inclusive programs and events planned throughout the year, in particular those centered around neurodiversity. Hope you can join us!
If you would like to participate in the Special Education Family Affinity group, please email specialedchair@loyalheightspta.org.
In partnership,
Shirley Rivadeneira
